The Du Boisson Dance Foundation is a registered charity, established in 2001, with the sole aim of raising funds to assist young people realise their passion for dance.
Since its creation, the Foundation has raised close to £1 million to help support performance opportunities for children regardless of their ability and to provide bursaries for dedicated enthusiastic children with potential who come from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.
In particular, the Foundation supports the students of two local schools: the West London School of Dance (WLSDance) and the Young Dancers Charitable Academy (YDCA). Children attending these schools often travel long distances to take classes.
WLSDance and the YDA students also enjoy the exciting privilege of performing once or twice per year in one of the fabulous stage productions that the Foundation supports such as The Nutcracker at Christmas and summer productions such as Peter Pan or Little Women or a grand fundraising Gala.
The Foundation’s generous support has helped many young hopefuls progress their ambitions and go on to dance as members of major ballet companies or become professionals in the performing arts.
Most importantly however, the Foundation aims to enrich the lives of all children who have a passion for dance, and to create a better life for each of them, step by step.
The DBDF is also committed to its work within the community, promoting dance and related performance arts for both adults and children alike.
To continue to support its passion for helping young dancers and theatrical performers, the Foundation needs to raise over £100,000 per annum and therefore welcomes with gratitude any donation that can be made.
